Update: the "pending confirmation" has arrived. Fellow Paolo Attivissimo, always good at this kind of journalistic research, has posted an article much clearer than mine, in which he exposes many more details regarding the signatures, the initiative, the counter-initiative... To sum it up, the idea has come from the site of highly questionable taste of the "International Boy Love Day", proposing to light up an azure candle to celebrate this day for "boy love" and those who love boys. (On their site they are lamenting they are persecuted despite the fundamental right to freedom of expression; they are also declaring they are not for child pornography o pedophilia, but for "consensual sexual boy relationships with older males"... maybe they should make up their mind. And inform themselves that the age of consent is a little higher.)
The E Polis newspaper thought to start a counter-initiative, in other words collecting signatures to block site and "Day", and bring them to the attention of public opinion. To advertise it, some emails with rather incomplete informations are being passed around, maybe originated from some clumsy, overzealous reader.

I have heard from a blogger colleague of the "No Love Boy Day" initiative, made to counter the "Love Boy Day" that apparently would be celebrated on the Internet by the "pedophile pride" movement, that is, a bunch of funny fellows like the ones that would like to found a party of their own in Holland, to proclaim to the world how unfair it is that their "legitimate" way of loving is ferociously disapproved. With my limited detective abilities (Google from work), I haven't been able to find a definitive confirmation to the thing, only a bunch of links to the "No" initiative, that is bouncing from one blog to another, to the SafeHaven Foundation that would reportedly be promoting the initiative itself, but that on its website just advertises its philosophy and its books, and other various links to the above mentiond books. Further research could lead to more informations, but time is short, and I find it quite odd that they can't be found, easily available and duly advertised like it's usually done for this kind of manifestations. Thus I'm growing the suspicion that it's just a hoax created to grow the public's adversion toward those persons, and that blogger and not-bloggers are spreading with the best intentions but without much verification... confirmation pending from other sources.
One thing however can be said about the whole thing of "pedophile pride". It is NOT something to be proud of. I saw that on their websites they play the martyrs, invoking freedom of expression, asking that is acknowledged their chance at loving and being loved from "young boys and girls". Here we're not talking about something like gay pride, unfair discrimination toward what one is since birth and that involves responsible adults that love each other (moreover, I think it's really bad taste to reuse the term for their own movement, but it seems those individuals have since long forgotten what shame is). Sirs, maybe you don't get one thing: the world hate and defame you not for what you are, but for what you do. And what you do is disgusting.
Consider a couple of thingies: however you put it, you are talking of "romantic relationships", that we all know how you make them end up sooner than later, with boys and kids, that are not deemed capable of free will, not for the law nor for biology. This means they haven't matured yet enough conscience of themselves, their body, their personality and their sexuality, if they even know what that is. This also means that by doing what you do, first of all you do violence to another individual, thing that goes against the principles of freedom that you advocate so much, if not plagiarism sometimes or a hardly healing psychological trauma. Second consideration, to use plain talk: to satisfy your dirty needs, both with little boys and girlies, it's about shoving stuff in places where it cannot, and should not, enter anything. This leads to the impossibility of the action, or to wounds and pain that I don't think reconcile much with the concept of "love" you talk about. Still the aforementioned violence; it's not by chance that they are called "sexual abuse crimes". Not to mention the use and spreading of photographic material or movies... it doesn't matter if it's not you, the act alone of using them knowing their origin, anything but consensual, makes you a partner in the crime, like you were there. Okay, there are comics and other graphical representations originated from a pencil and not from the shooting of a crime; but creating or watching those drawings is the sign of an inclination that's anything but healthy.
And now, tell me dear mister pedophiles, or "child lovers" if you like... on what basis should the world approve and accept you for these things? How can you ask not to be incriminated and ostracized by practically anyone for what you do, for your requests to legitimate your crimes against the person and childhood?
