Opening post

Perchè versioni in due lingue? Perchè posso, direi. So l'inglese piuttosto bene, ho già tradotto qualcosa prima d'ora, e nessuno si è lamentato finora. E poi ho questa stupida illusione che se qualche tizio italiano potrebbe trovare interessanti questi miei post, potrebbe valere lo stesso per qualche tizio inglese. Forse.

Why double-language version? Because I can, I guess. I know english pretty well, I already translated something before, and nobody complained so far. And I have this stupid delusion that if some Italian dude may find these posts interesting, it could be the same for some English dude. Maybe.

Well, here we are.
It starts today, with this post, this personal blog of mine. Me, when the last thing I thought I would ever do was to open a blog. But you know, you can never tell what future has in store for you... In this case, the event that started all was that one of my favorite blogs, due to some anonymous users a bit too much passionate in advocating their opinions on a particularly controversial topic (long story... maybe in a future post), has been forced to limit comments to blogposts to registered users only. And this obviously means only users registered with a Google or Blogger account.
Until then I had used the option standing halfway between anonymous and registered comment, that is to say comments with nickname and antispam captcha; it's not the greatest warranty in the world, but if you're consistent in your use of nickname, it spares you from having to memorize another username + password, at the negligible cost of writing every time the captcha.
Needless to say this change of ways cut me out; I thought, not that bad, but reading posts and comments without replying... in the end I couldn't resist anymore, and I finally resolved to register. (Moreover, seems like Google and Blogger have now common accounts, that means with your Blogger registration, now "Google account", i can later activate GMail too and other services from Big G. Score!)
Obviously, creating a Blogger account allows you to create a blog, so I thought... why not? This way I'll have a space where I can write down the things that I grind sometimes inside my head, not keeping them plugged in anymore. You're interested or not, your business: I write them down here just because, if someone likes them or ponders over them, all the better. (I could add, nowadays even the postman and his cat have a blog, but that's not excuse for almost anything in the world...).
A much needed clarification: here you won't find the narrations of what I've done today, if I fought with my girlfriend and other mundane amenities: I know very well that the blog origin is as an online personal log, but practice by now has demonstrated that it can go far beyond. Moreover, like many other computer users a bit above the average, I kinda value my privacy and thus I'm tight on personal informations. A thing that, among other things, I doubt you could care much about...
Observations, reflections, what goes on inside my head and I feel like writing, occasionally the important news security advisory. If you think it may interest you, try to give it a read: if you like it and decide to stay, I will be none other than pleased.
